In January 2019 there were nearly 1,ooo single adult women in the DC shelter system…
Washington DC is a city of juxtapositions as power and money mingle with poverty and hopelessness. In recent years, the District of Columbia has increased efforts to alleviate homelessness among families. While these efforts have been successful, single adults experiencing homelessness in the city have been left behind. The number of individuals entering the system for the first time has climbed drastically.
With the upcoming launch of Restore Hope in Washington DC we look forward to the opportunity to remind women in the city that they are not forgotten but they are seen, loved, and cared for. The District is a global city – what happens here can have ripple effects around the world. We are excited to partner with other local organizations to serve the city and bring hope to the streets.
