New York City

On Thursday November 28, 2019 there were 4,587 single adult women sleeping in the NYC shelter system…

It is impossible to miss the stark reality of homelessness as you walk through the streets, subway stations, and transportation hubs of New York City. Rising rent costs, competitive job markets, and overcrowding have led many New Yorkers to experience homelessness. The city’s abundance of resources and opportunities has drawn many who first experience homelessness elsewhere to relocate in hopes of finding the help they desperately need.

In a city and shelter system so large it is easy to feel like you are just a number not a person. At Restore Hope, each woman we meet is a name, a story, a life. We look beyond the circumstances to see the person, reminding them that they have dignity and offering the hope of a new beginning.
